Control procedures at the customs checkpoints of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance are still tightened towards the drivers of international freight vehicles as well as goods and citizens moving across the state border.
Within the frames of the above mentioned control procedures, customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, based on suspicion and as a result of the X-ray scan of the freight vehicle with the Armenian license plate, driven by the citizen of Armenia A.H, have detected in a specially arranged hiding place the undeclared goods, in particular: 58,500 packs of cigarettes (1 170 000 sticks) subject to the obligatory mark of excise stamp and alcoholic beverages (18.25 liters). The total customs value of the undeclared goods equaled to GEL 31 005.
The case-related materials have been transferred to the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance for further response.
