In the II quarter of 2022, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 16.1% (213.3 GEL) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1.541, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Information and communication – GEL 3 108.8 (increased by 43.1%)
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 2 671.0 (increased by 13.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Construction – GEL 2 177.6 (increased by 8.5%)
• Mining and quarrying – GEL 2 026.4 (increased by 16.6%)
In 2Q2022, the average earnings equaled to 1 240.6 Gel for women, while GEL 1 828.4 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 162.8(15.1%) for women and GEL 268.5 (17.2%) for men. In most sectors of economy the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.
