In 2Q2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 17.1% (GEL 263.2) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1 804.5.
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following
fields:
• Information and communication – GEL 3 799.8 (increased by 22.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 3 181.4 (increased by 19.1 percent )
• Construction – GEL 2 590.3 (increased by 18.9 percent)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 2 525.0 (increased by 25.1 percent)
In 2Q2023, the average earnings equaled to 1 437.1 Gel for women, while GEL 2 161.6 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 196.5 (15.8%) for women and GEL 333.2 (18.2%) for men. In all sectors of the economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.
In 2Q2023, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by GEL 289.0 (17.8%) and equaled GEL 1 914.7.
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Information and communication (GEL 3 909, increased
by 21.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Professional,scientific and technical activities (2 895.4 Gel, increased by 26.5%).
In 2Q2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by GEL 213.4 (15.3%) and amounted to GEL 1 610.2. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.
