In August 2021, the average nominal salary in Ukraine amounted to UAH 13,997 (US$ 526), which is 22.3% higher compared with August 2020, according to the State Statistics Service.
The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in August 2021 was UAH 13,997 (US$ 526), which is 2.3 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 6,000 or US$225). Compared to July 2021, the average nominal salary decreased by 2.4%, and grew by 22.3% over the last 12 months, compared to August 2020, Ukrinform reports.
The highest average nominal salaries in August 2021 were recorded in the information and telecommunications sector - UAH 24,813 (US$932), up 25.1% from August 2020, in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 23,537 (US$884), up 19.5%, in the public administration and defense, and compulsory social insurance - UAH 21,207 (US$797) up 26.2%.
The lowest average nominal salaries in August 2021 were recorded in the temporary accommodation and catering sector - UAH 9,788 (US$368), up 57.3% from August 2020, in the education sector - UAH 10,473 (US$393), up 27.4%; in the healthcare and social assistance sector - UAH 10,898 (US$410) up 28.4%.
According to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in Ukraine in August 2020 was UAH 11,446 (US$430), which is up 8.6% from August 2019.
