The US was the biggest importer of Turkey’s defense and aerospace products last year – $1.127 billion, Report informs referring to Turkish media.
In defense and aerospace exports, the US is followed by Azerbaijan with imports worth $202.221 million, Qatar with $180.547 million, the UAE with $161.526 million and Morocco with $159.667 million.
The Turkish defense industry provides the military needs of friendly and allied countries with the most advanced technologies. According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), last year, the country’s exports increased by 32.9% to $225.367 billion. The annual export of defense and aerospace products increased by 41.5%.
The defense and aerospace industry broke the export record in 2021. Thus, in 2021, the industry reached a new export record – $3.224 billion.
