The participants of the rally taking place in Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue, in the vicinity of the parliament building, went beyond the freedom of expression and took a violent character, - said the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
According to the agency, throughout the day, the police were mobilized in front of the parliament building and ensured the peaceful conduct of the protest.
"In the evening, after the end of the plenary session, the participants of the rally tried to block one of the entrances of the parliament, but the police did not allow them. At the same time, there were incidents of violence against the employees of the Ministry, including the throwing of various objects in the direction of law enforcement officers.
As a result of the violent actions of the participants of the rally, several law enforcement officers were injured and police equipment were damaged," the statement said.
