Speaking to reporters today, the Deputy Minister of Health confirmed that the Digomi Field Hospital received the first covid patients last night.
According to her, the hospital will be fully operational from today and it will be mainly intended for temporary patients.
"Last night 9 patients have been admitted to the field hospital, their condition is moderate. From today the field hospital will start working at full capacity.
The field hospital is mainly for temporary delays. In this case, the main thing for us is to stabilize the patient in a timely manner. The patient will then be transferred to the appropriate institution. According to our prognosis, we won't have to delay the patients for more than 2-3 days, "- said the Deputy Minister.
Asked whether this means that the hospital sector is working at full capacity, Tamar Gabunia answered: “The hospital sector is at full capacity and if any place is vacant, it will be filled immediately."
