Ukraine's direct losses from Russian war of aggression amount to approximately USD 149 billion. Maksym Nefyodov, head of reform support projects at Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), announced this at a presentation of digital tools for recording Russian crimes, Ukrinform reports.

"We are currently estimating direct losses from the second stage of Russian war of aggression, which began in February 2022, at approx. USD 149 billion. We are talking about direct losses (destroyed buildings, cars, etc.). This is not about the total amount of damage that considers human losses," Nefyodov said.

He stated that within the framework of the Russia Will Pay project, KSE analysts are working with government agencies and businesses to understand the extent of the damage and its consequences for the country's economy.

In addition, KSE experts are also analyzing the losses from the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP to "facilitate the work of private owners and claimants".

According to the Ministry of Economy, the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP caused at least USD 2 billion in direct losses to Ukraine, including losses in the housing and utilities sector, energy, agriculture, transportation, environment, and industry.
