Rector of Aviation University Sergo Tepnadze declares that expansion of Telavi airdrome is planned.
According to him, the expansion of Telavi aerodrome was still planned before the pandemic. However, the current situation delayed the processes. Works on the project will start this summer.
Tepnadze does not specify how much money is provided for the implementation of the Telavi aerodrome project and says that work is underway on the issue.
A few days ago, Kakheti Governor Irakli Shioshvili told BM.GE that the Aviation University already prepared expansion project for Mimino Aerodrome. According to Shioshvili, the aerodrome will carry out domestic flights, which will further increase the tourist potential.
“The Aviation University is still using Mimino Aerodrome, it supervises the area. They want to further expand the airport to accommodate domestic flights as well. It will help domestic tourism a lot and create new jobs”, said the governor of Kakheti.
