External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 6.5 billion in January-April 2023, 21.9% higher year-on-year, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, the value of export increased by 23.5% reaching USD 2 billion, while the import increased by 21.2% and amounted to USD 4.5 billion.
The trade deficit equaled USD 2.6 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 39.6%.
