Face Mask Requirement In Georgian Public Transport Removed From June 20

Wearing a face mask in public transport will no longer be mandatory across Georgia starting June 20, the Health Ministry announced on Thursday.

The state body noted the Government had made the decision based on recommendations of the Ministry and medical professionals, considering the current “stable epidemiological situation”.

Wearing face masks remains mandatory in hospitals, while their use in public transport and “other crowded spaces” will remain a recommendation, - Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Health Minister declared.
