Within the scope of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, the Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili and the President of the National Bank Koba Gvenetadze met with James John, Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The parties discussed the progress of the IMF program, the country's economic indicators, current and planned reforms.
"At the meeting, the main macroeconomic parameters of the 2023 budget project were positively assessed, especially in the direction of fiscal consolidation.
The National Bank's monetary policy, which aims at reducing inflation, has been emphasized.
Attention was also focused on the reform agenda of the Georgian government and, in this regard, on the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund," the Ministry of Finance said.
The Minister of Finance thanked the head of the IMF mission and each member of the mission, as well as the permanent representative of the fund in Georgia for their support and cooperation.
