Over the past 3 months, the price of fuel in Georgia has increased significantly. The cost of Euro regular fuel at branded filling stations increased by 13-19%.
The cost of Euro regular fuel at Gulf filling stations, which is one of the largest retailers on the market, increased from GEL 2.25 to GEL 2.69 in May. The increase is 44 tetri or 19.5%.
The cost of Euro Regular petrol in Wissol stations increased from GEL 2.35 to GEL 2.72. The increase is 37 tetri or 15.7%.
The price in the Socar network has also increased - Nano Euro Regular costs GEL 2.65, which is 12.7% higher than the price in May, or 30 tetri.
According to the Union of Oil Products Importers, the price of Euro Regular in the Rompetrol network is GEL 2.65. Gasoline of the same brand can be bought for GEL 2.45 in the Petrol network.
The bulk share of fuel in Georgia is imported from Russia. In January-June of the current year, 449.5 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel were imported from Russia, which accounted for 81.1% of all imports. Russia was followed by: Romania - 77.6 thousand tons - 14%; Turkmenistan - 11.4 thousand tons - 2%; Azerbaijan - 9.5 thousand tons - 1.7%; Belarus - 5 thousand tons - 0.9%.
