Turkish furniture manufacturer Assia will launch a furniture company in Georgia late in August with an investment of 2 million in Natakhtari.

As Omer Faruk Demirtas, the founder of the investor company explains, company will first make a focus on the local market, and then make the export of the furniture on the international markets.

"I am Georgian by origin and I have wanted to start a business in my homeland since childhood. Years after setting up a production line in Turkey, I am able to implement this idea with my Georgian partner. At the factory we produce both hotel and home furniture and it is already operating in test mode. Productivity is determined by the demand on the furniture, but at this stage we have an order from one of the hotels in Batumi, which has 150 rooms, and we will fully provide it with furniture, "- said Omer Farouk Demirtas.

Investors did not benefit from state support programs, and Assia created up to 50 jobs by investing $ 2 million. The plant is fully equipped with European, modern devices and it will work mainly on raw materials imported from Turkey. After some time, the partners plan to export Georgian furniture to European countries.

"We have experience in exporting furniture to Europe from a company operating in Turkey, and after launching in Georgia, we will export furniture to Germany, France and the UK, especially in the conditions that we will be able to easily export products from Georgia to Europe within the DCFTA," said founder of Assia.
