Georgia exported 756.5 million kWh of electricity in 6M2026. Namely in June, the country increased the volume of exported electricity to 350.5 million kWh, of which Georgia sold 253 million kWh to Turkey.
In total, electricity of 606 million kWh was exported to Turkey in January-June, which was 80% of the total exported electricity.
This year, the country received a total of USD 52.3 million from the exports of electricity. According to the government's forecast, in 2023, Georgia will export a record amount of electricity and will exceed one billion kWh.
In 2022, Georgia's electricity exports increased by 148% y-o-y and the total volume of energy amounted to 971 million kWh. The country received a total of USD 84 million from the exports of electricity. 89% of exported electricity accounted for Turkey, while 11% - to Armenia.
