Georgia has reported 602 new Covid cases and 697 recoveries during the week of May 9-15, reads the recent data published by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC).
Only one case of coronavirus-related fatality has been reported during this period. The virus has killed more than 16,000 people since the pandemic broke out.
According to the NCDC, a total of 97,625 tests were administered (86,222 antigen tests, 11,403 PCR tests). As for the positivity rate, it stood at 0.62% for seven days. Omicron B.A.2 strain is predominantly circulating in Georgia. For several weeks now, the government has stopped publishing coronavirus statistics on a daily basis, and it is only published once a week.
