The municipality of Bolnisi will spend the second grant in various directions received within the framework of the EU initiative "Mayors for Economic Growth".

The budget of the project "Bolnisi model - a successful example for local economic development" totals to 250,000 EUR, of which 50,000 EUR is the participation of the municipality of Bolnisi.

"From February 1, 2022, the municipality of Bolnisi, together with the partner organization CURSUS, started implementing the project "Bolnisi model - a successful example for local economic development". The budget of the project is 250 thousand EUR. Out of this, the EU grant amounts to 200,000 EUR (80%), while 50,000 EUR (20%) is the participation of Bolnisi Municipality. 80% of each project is financed by the European Union, and 20% by Bolnisi municipality. Within the framework of the project, the following measures are planned: more than 63 thousand EUR will be provided for the creation of an agricultural products laboratory; more than 26,000 EUR will be spent on launching a website for the promotion of local products and 8 thousand EUR have been allocated for the organization of the forum; 25 thousand EUR for the creation of the "sustainable and green city" strategy", Bolnisi Municipality told BM.GE.

According to their information, procurement procedures for setting up the laboratory are underway; A group of experts is working on the "Sustainable and Green City" strategy, and the process of creating a website is at the stage of selecting specialists, while the preparatory work for organizing the forum has begun.

In 2023, the municipality is already planning to arrange a pilot demonstration area of ​​the "Green City", which involves more than 36,000 EUR, 5,000 EUR are provided for supporting the entrepreneurs and 4,000 EUR for the promotion of young people's ideas.

"Bolnis model - a successful example for local economic development" will end on January 31, 2024.
