It is a mistake to rely on the Russian market now, - farmer Nika Getiashvili, told Business Morning.

According to him, the main challenge is purchasing power of Russia due to the ruble devaluation.

"Until we are not joined the sanctions imposed on Russia, Georgian products will still enter the Russian market, but there is another problem – purchasing power of Russia due to the devaluation of ruble and high inflation,” - said the farmer.

According to him, the market cannot be replaced because there are a number of problems in this regard, including the quantity of products, logistics and quality.

"I took care of this for a long time and started to replace the Russian market five years ago. I produce fruits, 80% of which are sold on the Georgian market. The resource for developing the local market is very large in Georgia, we just need to know what to do,” said Nika Getiashvili.

Nika Getiashvili has planted an orchard and vineyard on several hectares in Gurjaani. In 2017, he introduced flat peaches (donut peaches) to the Georgian market, known as "Saturn".
