Labour Inspection Service Checked Over 400 Companies In Q1

A report submitted to parliament by the government shows that in the first quarter of 2022, the Labor Inspection Service inspected 369 companies. According to the government, some of these facilities were re-inspected and the total number of inspections was 499. However, according to the government, by 2021, 28% of the companies have fully corrected the irregularities revealed by the inspection.

"Activities carried out in the reporting period of 2021 covered 6.7% of active entities (58,830 activities were carried out on 13,612 facilities) and in total, affected up to 200,000 employees. In 2021, 1540 inspections of 834 facilities were carried out within the framework of the main mandate of the Labor Inspection.

According to the data of 1Q2022, 499 inspections were carried out at 369 facilities in the direction of labor safety. The inspections affected up to 26,000 employees. In the field of labor rights, 239 inspections were carried out at 150 facilities. The inspections affected up to 9,000 employees.

As a result, the number of proactive activities carried out by the Labor Inspection Service, the awareness of employees and employers about the requirements of the Organic Law of Georgia on Labor Safety is consistently increasing. In particular, 28% of the enterprises fully corrected the violations after the administrative sanctions”, - the government report says.
