Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili nominated Tsotne Kavlashvili for the post of General Auditor.
“The State Audit Service is one of the principal tools helping the Parliament and each of its members to oversee the regularity and effectiveness of state funds’ expenditures,” the Speaker said at the briefing.
The parliament will vote to elect General Auditor next week. The Speaker expressed hope that the majority would support Tsotne Kavlashvili’s candidacy.
Tsotne Kavlashvili previously worked as Deputy Finance Minister and has Headed State Treasury since 2013.
