Georgia international airports served 105,279 passengers in three months of 2021, which is down by 85.20% in comparison to the same period of 2020, says the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.
The airports served 711 536 passengers in Q1, 2020, while the passenger number was 1 016 096 in the same period of 2019. Correspondingly, the decline is 89,64%.
The Civil Aviation Agency explains the reason is the flight ban due to the COVID-pandemic, which was suspended from March 2021.
In January-March 2021 Georgian international airports served:
• Tbilisi International Airport served 100 094 passengers - a 79.11% decrease y-o-y;
• Decline amounts to almost 100% at Kutaisi International Airport y-o-y;
• Batumi International Airport served 3 946 passengers – a 91.70% decrease y-o-y.
