On Didube-Avchala space interval, nearby Ksani Street, rock fell from the slope on the rail track at the crack of dawn. As a result of the incident, the train service between Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi and Tbilisi-Batumi was temporarily interrupted, according to Georgian Railway.
"Works were carried out to remove debris and it was possible to resume train traffic on time.
At this stage, work is underway to clean the path of the second direction. As soon as the work is completed, traffic on the second track will resume as usual, following all safety measures.
Currently, geologists and specialists are working on site. The methodology of heavy machinery equipment and cleaning works will be planned in accordance to the conclusions of the specialists," reads the statement.
The management of the Georgian Railway emphasized that the movement of trains is not interrupted.
