Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili declares, that several investors have expressed interest in the construction of the Anaklia port.
As Davitashvili stated at the press conference in response to a question from journalists, the Anaklia development program has been worked out. According to him, ultimately, the above project will be implemented.
"It is important for us to modernize the existing ports. This process is underway - a month and a half ago we witnessed the opening of a new terminal. It is also important for us to build the Anaklia deep sea port.
All the ports that are being constructed are designed for higher depths and more cargo vessels. The Anaklia project is quite large. Several interested investors have talked to the state about this issue. We conducted a detailed study together with a Dutch company that studied Georgian ports, because it was important for us to see the overall picture and we did not focus on just one port. There are some findings, conclusions. We had this product days before the start of the war. Based on this, we prepared Anaklia development program. This includes several elements, including the issue of arbitration disputes, with regard to which we have to present our positions together with a consulting law firm. Finally, we will implement this project," Levan Davitashvili said.
