"Tariff increase is not planned any sectors, neither in electricity, nor in gas supply and water supply," said Davit Narmania, chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.

The point is that today GNERC holds a meeting, where the issue of thermal power plant tariffs will be discussed. As Narmania explained, current tariffs for the thermal power plants are valid until December 31, they will revise the rates, but tariff increase is not planned.

"Tariffs were set in the summer of this year, but even then it was said that the tariffs were not increased. At today's sitting, a decision is made regarding the thermal power plants, which is not related to the tariff increase. Tariffs for thermal power plants are set by the end of December, so new tariffs should be introduced, but we do not have any substantial changes here, as the gas tariff has not increased and other parameters have not deteriorated, which may push us to increase the tariff. Tariffs for Tbilisi and the regions are being approved and no increase is planned here either,” said Davit Narmania.
