Levan Ratiani, director of the First University Clinic, says there are too many covid-infected critically ill patients in the country.
He explains that the majority of critical patients come out of intensive care healthy. He also says that the idea that severely ill patients cannot recover is wrong.
"On the example of our clinic and in general, we have a lot of critically ill patients. Fortunately for us, most of them are recovering and leaving intensive care. If a seriously ill patient needs intensive care, it does not automatically mean that they won't come out of intensive care. This is a lie. I do not know who and why say this and why they need to pressure the citizens. For the last 2 years and even before that our clinic has been serving the most severe and critical patients, both newborns and pregnant women. The lethality index is 5.1%. This is very good, but even though doctors are doing everything they can to save patients, some patients still die. We hope that the moment will come very soon when the lethality index will drop sharply," said the director of the First University Clinic.
