“We have flu vaccines for two weeks but demand is low”, - the head of the National Center for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze stated about it.
According to him, a total of 212,000 doses of vaccine have been imported in the country and distributed to all clinics. At the same time, Gamkrelidze calls on the citizens at special risk group to be careful and get a vaccine.
“High-risk groups can take flu vaccine for more than two weeks. However, the demand is not high. Initially, 25 thousand vaccines were distributed to different clinics and only 14 thousand people were vaccinated.
Last week, 77,000 doses of the flu vaccine were brought in the country. Those vaccines are also distributed to all clinics. Another 110 thousand doses were imported last night. However, 23 thousand doses will be brought again. Depending on the activity, the state will take care to purchase additional doses of flu vaccine," - said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
