Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, CEO of TBC Bank notes that the bank measures their employees’ happiness index each year, because bank is a service sector and if an employee is not happy or satisfied, he will not serve the customer properly.

“We measure happiness index of our employees every year. We are conducting a confidential survey. Last year, TBC's happiness index was over 90%, despite the pandemic. This is important because it turns out that people enjoy their work. We are a service sector, if the employee is not happy and satisfied, he will not be able to serve the customer properly,” said Vakhtang Butskhrikidze.

CEO of TBC Bank talked about the changed working environment due to the pandemic.

“Supposedly, old working environment, when all meetings had to be physical, would never return. The pandemic showed us it was not necessary. Moreover, pre-pandemic principle of hiring staff has also changed; Because we have the ambition to be a technology company, we need such specialists who are often not in Georgia. Earlier, if we invited foreigner, we were considering bringing his family which increased our costs. Today this issue has been removed. We have already hired several foreign employees who work remotely for TBC. We see that it is not necessary for an employee to come to work physically in the morning and go home in the evening. For example, one TBC employee now works from the South Korea. We also hire employees from Eastern Europe. We would probably have reached it in 5 years, but the pandemic has accelerated this process,” said Vakhtang Butskhrikidze.
