The Deputy Minister of Economy Romeo Mikautadze declares, that according to the new renewable energy support scheme presented by the government, all those companies that have started construction of the energy project can participate in the auctions.
"Several weeks ago, the Prime Minister announced a new support scheme to attract investments in energy and renewable energy sectors.
Today, we are meeting potential investors and developers with projects at a certain stage of development and explaining to them what benefits they can see with the new scheme and how it works.
For 15 years, the state undertakes to purchase electricity guaranteed at the winning price in the auction", said the Deputy Minister.
Under the government's new renewable energy support scheme, the mechanism for promoting energy projects is based on competition and market principles. The electricity produced on the projects implemented under this scheme should be sold only in the organized market directly by the producer or wholesale trade services organization.
The contractor can withdraw from the agreement twice - after 5 or 10 years it is signed.
