Trade grew at a rapid pace between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates in 2022. Exports increased by 51% to USD 31 million, while imports increased by 98% to USD 283 million.

The main exporting goods of Georgia to the United Arab Emirates are cars, which exports were up by 24% amounting to USD 11 million last year.

TOP-5 Exporting Goods From Georgia to UAE:

1. Automobiles - USD 11.2 million, increase of 24% over the previous year
2. Woven carpets and other synthetic floor coverings - USD 2.1 million, increase of 101% over the previous year
3. Spirits - USD 1.9 million, down 26% from last year
4. Live sheep and goats - USD 1.5 million, increase of 5% over the previous year
5. Automotive parts and equipment - USD 1.2 million, decrease of 22% compared to the previous year.

As for imports, Georgia buys the most mobile phones from the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, the UAE is a major supplier of mobile phones, last year Georgia bought USD 155 million worth of phones from the United Arab Emirates (48% of these goods). Tobacco products occupy the second place in imports.

2. Tobacco products - USD 20 million, an increase of 212% compared to the previous year
3. Computers and their blocks - USD 12 million, an increase of 78% over the previous year
4. Cars - USD 11 million, an increase of 163% over the previous year
5. Used auto parts - $6 million, up 41% from last year.

Government delegations of Georgia and the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday met in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi to launch the third and final round of their negotiations on a free trade agreement between the states, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia announced.

Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Genadi Arveladze said the agreement would open the UAE market and its 10 million consumers with “high purchasing power” to Georgian exporting companies.
