According to the Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia, a new model of management of patients in the primary health care system is being developed. She said this in response to a reporter's question, which referred to cases of delayed treatments of infected patients staying at home.
Tamar Gabunia explained that due to the high number of referrals from family doctors, there were only a few cases of delays in contacting patients, although today the system of home management practices will switch to a new model.
"In the current wave of primary health care, at different stages, 40 to 50 thousand patients were treated in at-home conditions, which was a great burden for family doctors. We are informed about cases in which the family doctor responded to the patient with some delay or contacted relatively late. There were a number of such cases, to which the 1522 Online Clinic responded. Now, this workload has been relatively lightened and there are fewer such calls.
As for change, we are working on further expanding decentralization; If there are now a number of primary health care clinics involved and yet an online clinic is not working everywhere, a model is developed where each family doctor manages the citizens registered with them. That is, the patient will receive the service from the same family doctor with whom they are registered. If for any reason the citizen is not registered with the family doctor, in this case, they will be served by the Central Online Clinic of 15 22 or will have the opportunity to register. This will further disrupt and expand this system and make it easier for family physicians to manage each case. We used this model to manage suspicious cases in November-December, but now the network is ready enough to get involved in managing registered patients with it," the deputy minister said.
