In January-July 2021, Georgia earned $ 2.7 million from tea exports. The volume of flavored or non-flavored tea sold from Georgia in different countries of the world was 1,339.4 tons.
According to official statistics, the export volume of tea this year is 7% higher than the same period last year, while 23.8% higher compared to the 7 months of 2019. However, the value of exported tea is lower than the last year (7 months of 2020 - 2.8 million USD), while it has increased compared to the 2019 figure (7 months of 2019 $ 2.3 million).
During these years, Azerbaijan remained the main export market for tea to Georgia, and products were exported to about 20 countries.

As for imports, the volumes of tea purchased from different markets of the world are much higher than the exports. According to statistics, in the first 7 months of this year, tea imports decreased by 15% and the country spent USD 4.8 million to purchase 1,169.7 tons of tea.
Among the import markets, Azerbaijan still occupies the first place.
