The poll shows that the majority of respondents name the European Union as the most important political partners for Georgia, followed by the USA, and Ukraine.

The responses of the respondents are distributed as follows:

EU -51%
USA - 47%
Ukraine - 24%
Turkey - 16
Azerbaijan 14%
United Kingdom - 11%
Russia -7%
Armenia 6%
China 3%
Iran 1%

And as for the countries that represent the biggest political threat to Georgia, 89% of respondents consider Russia. It is followed by Turkey with 11%, and the third place was occupied by the United States of America with a 6%-share.

As for the rest of the countries, 4% of respondents consider Armenia as a political threat, 3% - 3% - Iran and Azerbaijan, and 2% - China. The EU, Ukraine and the United Kingdom each have 1%.

As for the question of which country represents the biggest economic threat to Georgia, 80% of respondents believe that Russia, 10% name Turkey, and 4% USA.

The fieldwork was carried out by the Institute of Polling & Marketing. Data was collected throughout Georgia between September 13 and October 2, 2022, through face-to-face computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) in respondents’ homes. The sample consisted of 1,500 permanent residents of Georgia aged 18 and older and eligible to vote. It is representative of the general population by age, gender, region and settlement size.
