Writers' House Of Georgia strongly opposes the introduction of the bills "Transparency of Foreign Influence" and "Registration of Foreign Agents" in the Parliament of Georgia. The essence of these draft laws is antithetical to the repeatedly confirmed European aspirations of Georgian citizens and seeks to undermine civil activism and curtail freedom of speech and expression.

"Writers House of Georgia considers it inadmissible to adopt the law On Foreign Agents in Georgia and to make this offensive sign for our fellow citizens, media and public sector representatives.

It is symbolic, that a museum of repressed writers is publicly opened in the Writers' House of Georgia, the main function of which should be to understand the Soviet past, the Parliament of Georgia adopts a law that will finally distance the country from its main goal.

While working on the museum of repressed writers by the Soviet regime, we never thought that the material would be so clearly connected to the present. It is significant that our museum, as well as many projects necessary for the development of the country, was largely created with a grant from the US Embassy.

We consider that this law contradicts the course of European integration of the country recognized by the Constitution of Georgia,"- the statment of Writers' House Of Georgia reads.
