As of August 1, 2022, the share of non-performing loans (NPLs) in Ukraine’s banking sector increased to 30%.
The relevant statement was made by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the NBU, the amount of NPLs rose by UAH 24.2 billion ($660 mln) in July 2022.
Last year the share of NPLs in the credit portfolio decreased by 11 percentage points, from 41% as of January 1, 2021 to 30% as of January 1, 2022. In February 2022, the share of NPLs reduced by 2.9 percentage points to 26.6%. However, it increased to 27.1% in March 2022 and 29.7% in April-June 2022.
