The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in February 2023 decreased by 9.46 million GEL or by 0.02% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.81%) and constituted GEL 44.45 billion by the end of February 2023. The volume of loans in national currency increased by GEL 144.87 million (0.59%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency decreased by GEL 154.32 million or by 0.77% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 1.07%).
By the end of February 2023, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to GEL 7.35 billion (0.12% less compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted GEL 12.32 billion (0.38% less; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 1.45%).
During February 2023, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 0.18% or GEL 42.04 million, and constituted GEL 23.84 billion by the end of February 2023.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 55.35% by the end of February 2023 and increased by 0.34 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0.12 percentage point), compared to the end of January 2023.
